Formula

Total gha = Carbon gha + Food gha + Housing gha + Goods gha

Earths Needed = Your Footprint / Earth's Biocapacity per Person

    An American with 12 tons CO2, moderate food, 2,000 sq ft home, $1,000/month spending.

    1. Carbon: 12 * 0.34 = 4.08 gha
    2. Food: 1.2 * 0.9 = 1.08 gha
    3. Housing: 2,000 * 0.0003 = 0.60 gha
    4. Goods: 1,000 * 12 * 0.00005 = 0.60 gha
    5. Total: 4.08 + 1.08 + 0.60 + 0.60 = 6.36 gha
    6. Earths needed: 6.36 / 1.6 = 4.0 planets
