How long does ice last at a party?
In a cooler, ice lasts 4-8 hours. Outdoors in summer without insulation, it melts in 1-2 hours. Keep cooler lids closed and use block ice (slower melting) underneath.
Should I get bagged ice or block ice?
Use both: block ice for coolers (melts slower) and bagged cubed ice for drinks. Cubed ice is also needed for cocktails.
Where should I store extra ice?
Store in coolers, bathtubs, or large bins. Buy ice the day of the event or the night before and keep in the freezer or an insulated cooler.
