The Dean's List is a semester-by-semester academic honor for students meeting both GPA and credit-hour minimums.

Typical Requirements

  • Minimum GPA: Usually 3.5 or higher
  • Minimum Credits: Usually 12+ credits (full-time)
  • No Incomplete Grades: Most schools require all grades finalized

    A student earns a 3.6 GPA in a 15-credit semester. Dean's List requires 3.5 GPA and 12 credits.

    1. Semester GPA: 3.6 >= 3.5 minimum - Meets requirement
    2. Credits taken: 15 >= 12 minimum - Meets requirement
    3. Both conditions met: Qualifies for Dean's List
    4. GPA margin: 3.6 - 3.5 = +0.10 above minimum
