How Muffin Batch Amounts Are Calculated

Batter per Muffin

  • Mini muffin: About 30 g (1 tablespoon) of batter per cup.
  • Standard muffin: About 75 g (3 tablespoons) of batter per cup, filling 2/3 full.
  • Jumbo muffin: About 150 g (6 tablespoons) of batter per cup.

    A standard muffin batter is approximately:

  • 35% flour
  • 20% sugar
  • 15% fat (butter or oil)
  • 30% liquid + eggs

    Calculate batter for 12 standard muffins.

    1. Total batter = 12 x 75 = 900 g.
    2. Flour = 900 x 0.35 = 315 g.
    3. Sugar = 900 x 0.20 = 180 g.

    5. Batter volume = 900 / 240 = 3.8 cups.
