Retaining Wall Block Count

Blocks per Row = Wall Length / Block Length

Rows = Wall Height / Block Height

Total Blocks = Blocks per Row x Rows

Add 5 to 10 percent for cuts and waste. Walls taller than 4 feet typically require engineering and may need geogrid reinforcement.

Exemple Résolu

30 ft wall, 3 ft tall, using 12 x 4 inch blocks.

  1. Blocks per row = ceil(360 / 12) = 30
  2. Rows = ceil(36 / 4) = 9
  3. Total = 30 x 9 = 270 blocks
  4. Add 10% waste = 297 blocks, order 300.
