How to Calculate Manufacturing Emissions
Manufacturing emissions come from energy use and material processing.
Components
1. Electricity: kWh * 0.92 lbs CO2/kWh 2. Natural Gas: MMBtu * 117 lbs CO2/MMBtu 3. Process emissions: Vary by material (steel ~1.8, aluminum ~8.0, cement ~0.9 tons CO2/ton)

Example Calculation
A factory using 50,000 kWh/month, 200 MMBtu/month gas, processing 100 tons/month at 0.5 tons CO2/ton.
- 01Electricity CO2: 50,000 * 12 * 0.92 / 2,204.6 = 250 metric tons
- 02Gas CO2: 200 * 12 * 117 / 2,204.6 = 127 metric tons
- 03Material CO2: 100 * 12 * 0.5 = 600 metric tons
- 04Total: 250 + 127 + 600 = 977 metric tons/year
