What is the difference between SLG and AVG?
Batting average treats all hits equally. Slugging weights extra-base hits by the number of bases earned, measuring power output.
What is OPS?

Can SLG be higher than 1.000?
Theoretically yes, if every at-bat were a home run (4.000). In practice, season SLG above .700 is extremely rare.
