How It Works
How to Calculate GRE Score
The GRE has two scored sections: Verbal and Quantitative, each 130–170.
Formula
Combined GRE = Verbal + Quantitative
The Analytical Writing section is scored separately (0–6) and not included in the combined total. Combined scores range from 260 to 340.
Worked Example

- 01Combined GRE = 155 + 158 = 313
- 02Verbal percentile estimate = round((155 - 130) / 40 * 100) = 63
- 03Quant percentile estimate = round((158 - 130) / 40 * 100) = 70
