How to Calculate Theoretical Yield
Formula
Yield = (moles_limiting × coeff_product / coeff_limiting) × Mw_product
First find moles of product from the mole ratio, then convert to grams.
Example Calculation
0.5 mol of C reacts (1:1 ratio) to produce CO2 (44.01 g/mol).
- 01Moles product = 0.5 × (1/1) = 0.5 mol
- 02Yield = 0.5 × 44.01 = 22.005 g
