Solution Density Calculator Formula
Understand the math behind the solution density calculator. Each variable explained with a worked example.
Formulas Used
Density
density = mass_solution / volume_solutionVariables
| Variable | Description | Default |
|---|---|---|
mass_solution | Mass of Solution(g) | 105 |
volume_solution | Volume of Solution(mL) | 100 |
How It Works
How to Calculate Solution Density
Formula
d = m / V
Where d is density (g/mL), m is mass (g), and V is volume (mL). Note: g/mL and kg/L are numerically identical.
Worked Example
A salt solution has mass 105 g and volume 100 mL.
mass_solution = 105volume_solution = 100
- 01d = m / V
- 02d = 105 / 100
- 03d = 1.05 g/mL
