Why is the pyramid volume 1/3 of a prism?
A pyramid with the same base and height as a prism has exactly 1/3 the volume. This can be proven by slicing a cube into three congruent pyramids.
What about non-square base pyramids?
For any pyramid, V = (1/3) × base area × height. This calculator uses a square base, but the formula works for any base shape.
