## How AP Credits Save Money

Each AP exam with a qualifying score (usually 3 or higher) can earn college credit, letting you skip equivalent courses.

### Formula

**Credits Earned = Exams Passed x Credits per Exam**

**Net Savings = (Credits x Cost per Credit) - (Exams x Exam Fee)**

AP credits can also shorten your time to degree by an entire semester or more, compounding the savings with room, board, and opportunity cost.

计算示例

A student passes 4 AP exams worth 3 credits each, at a school charging $500/credit. Each exam costs $98.

  1. Credits earned: 4 x 3 = 12
  2. Tuition saved: 12 x $500 = $6,000
  3. Exam costs: 4 x $98 = $392
  4. Net savings: $6,000 - $392 = $5,608
