When does the ideal gas law apply?
It works well at low pressures and high temperatures where gas molecules are far apart. It becomes inaccurate near condensation or at very high pressures.
What value of R should I use?
R = 0.08206 L·atm/(mol·K) for pressure in atm and volume in liters. R = 8.314 J/(mol·K) for SI units.
How do I convert Celsius to Kelvin?
Add 273.15. For example, 25°C = 298.15 K. Temperature in the ideal gas law must be in Kelvin.
