How to Calculate Employee Turnover Rate

Turnover Rate = (Separations / Average Headcount) x 100 Average Headcount = (Beginning + Ending Headcount) / 2

Turnover captures both voluntary departures (resignations) and involuntary ones (terminations, layoffs).
