How small are parallax angles?
Even the nearest star has only 0.769 arcsec. The Gaia mission reaches micro-arcsecond precision.
Why does parallax fail for distant stars?
The angle becomes too small to measure accurately. Beyond about 1000 pc, other methods are needed.

The diameter of Earth's orbit (2 AU). The parallax angle is half the total annual shift.
